Biafra: When We Call for Biafra

When we call for Biafra, we call for a conducive ground to do better. We call for equity and justice. We call for a nation where children won't die because their parents are poor. We call for a nation without homeless citizens. We call for a nation that will be proud of her citizens and encourage everyone to strive. We call for a nation of one value system and speedy development. We call for a nation that won't be proud to harbour unemployment. We call for a nation where average citizen won't be timid but rational. We call for many things good for our people. When we yell for Biafra, I expect women to lead the fight.

The Nigeria you see today has destroyed more than it can build. Our young men who should defend our women are now the target of the murderous Nigerian agents. Like the recent killing of the innocent bike man by Nigerian army at Ngwa in Abia state on the 6th of August 2019 that was quickly label cult clash by the same Nigerian army, many youths especially in Rivers state have been killed by these agents of death called Nigeria army, Boko Haram, herdsmen or whatever name they bear … they’re all the same.

When I look through Bayelsa to Enugwu state, I see no government established industries that can employ up to 100 youths. All the existing industries in Biafra-land have systematically been extinguished by Nigerian government. Think of Port-Harcourt cement, Port-Harcourt seaport, Calabar seaport, Aba Textile meal, Niger Cem, ANAMCO, Orji River power plant, and many others. They are all gone.

After National Youth Service Corp, none comes to Biafra land in search of job; it’s either you go to Lagos, Kano or Abuja. Nobody comes to East – Igwe-ocha (Port Harcourt) or Enugwu. Even the oil companies in Abia, Igwe-ocha (Port-Harcourt), Bayelsa, Akwa-Ibom, etc, employ from their head office in Lagos and Abuja. Little wonder most people in oil companies today are Odudua and Arewa youths.

The Nigerian government has made an average Biafran believe they can't make it at home. Yes, because there is no job and worse still, no enabling environment for self-employment. Turn around you now and check the number of youths that are still in your village today and compare that to those that have absconded. Yes, absconded, for many have ran away to foreign lands in search for greener pastures and end up getting married to foreigners. Many never returned; many started life afresh.

At home many are jobless, no clear future irrespective of your qualification and skill. Young men lack the courage to marry, for feeding the wife and children has become a serious challenge. Foodstock and basic medical care are exorbitant and even unaffordable to many. An average Nigerian youth is homeless.

Yes, we are all involved; we all are affected – one way or the other. Therefore we all must fight. We must fight now, not later. Freedom! Freedom! Freedom!

In conclusion, brethren, when we call for Biafra, we do so that you may live your life and live it in abundance. Biafra is our only hope. Don't fall too cheap for your politicians, imams, pastors, Reverend Fathers or whatever, who have nothing to offer you but steal from you instead.
